In this economy who can afford or justify a $10 or above Car Wash? Well, I thought I could. The other day, I took my SUV to a popular CW in-town, I'd been there and although I wasn't always satisfied with their service with careful guidance I left pleased.
Well this time, I thought I'd leave them to do their best as they advertised by sharing my desires before hand.Feeling that I communicated what I needed done fairly well I left my vehile in their promised capable hands.
I received my vehicle 1/2 hour later from an attendant who seemed quite jovial , "bless his heart." A closeinspection revealedcrumbs on seats, on the floor, a dirty interior window, door jams full of dirt and debri, consoles and seats soiled.
I couldn't believe this was the $40 CW with the specialattention to detailI asked for. It was too much to be ignored! So I thought I'd share my displeasure with the frontman who'd written down my requests. Who in turn, took me to speak to either the manager or onsite supervisor & clerk. Both of whom tried to inform me that the CW I paid for didn't include the areas mentioned. Cleaning of windows and the interior??? When has the cleaning of windows and vacuuming of carpets ever not been a part of a premium CW? Right, never.
I shared with them that this was not about a refund, because the returning of money was not the issue, but the promise of services that weren't rendered was.
The young female clerk looked at me with disdainment and the elder woman just stood by and added nothing of use to the conversation.
I don't believe either one of these individuals had any experience or knowledge on how to handle a dissatisfied customer or conflict resolution or dissolution.
The behaviors of both women only heigtened my displeasure, while the man was lastly indifferent at the realization of his position.
My tip to you today is not to stop going to CWs, but to hold them accountable and make it clear that you want the services they profess to provide for the outrageous amount of money that they require.
Don't give your tips or gratuity lightly. Ensure that the one providing the services in addtion to your requests, deserves your monetary blessing. That way, they earned it and it isn't just expected.
Kind of like those bottles on the counter of coffee shops asking for tips for services already paid for.
In this economy the customer deserves and should get "Quality" for there money and time and shoudn't be made to feel like a Ogar for expecting it.
