What brings a person to the hobby of Paranormal Investigator? More often than not; it is an experience that cannot be explained to a rational-minded person. The curiosity of an event in which most people would ignore due to nerves or faiths can bring certain individuals to conclusions that are left with unanswered questions. I am one of those few individuals drawn into this hobby because of activity some people would call.....paranormal.
My name is Jeramiah; I am an investigator and researcher for MPI- Military Paranormal Investigations. I have been investigating paranormal activity for almost a year now, so when I heard about MPI, I had to be a part of the team. My interests into the paranormal realm and the unexplained came about during my early high school years due to my inexperience and lack of knowledge about Parapyschology. I only knew the Biblical answers about the subject, but I needed more. There were a few occasions when my fascination into the paranormal turned into real encounters. I would like to share one of the encounters with you.
I can remember this event playing over and over in my head like it happened yesterday. At 17, I wasn't the typical teenager; I was at a time in my life in which I was a deeply religious follower. It was to the point that I had become very intrigued with the idea of spiritual warfare. I attended church twice a week and also led prayer meetings and Bible studies weekly at school looking to become a preacher. During this time I lived at my girlfriend and her mother's house with a pretty big kitchen with a linoleum floor on top of concrete. Needless to say it's a pretty solid kitchen floor.
Now before I describe the event, let me tell you a little bit more about the kitchen. If you face the stove, there is a hallway to the right (that you can clearly see all the way down to the end), and there is a counter top island between the stove and dining area (very hard for a person to sneak up on someone.)
One afternoon, after an intense Bible study session, I decided to go home and make some soup. When I got home, there was no one elsethere so I kicked off my shoes and socks and headed straight for the kitchen. As I'm standing there facing the stove making my soup, I begin to feel the floor behind me sink. Yes, I said sink... you know how when you step on a trampoline, it had the same sensation. Now the first thing going through my mind would be the same as anyone else, turn around and look down. However, before I could react to the sinking sensation, I heard a deep breath and warm, moist air hit the back of my neck. At this point I froze, or at least it felt as if I did, but I know I didn't. I started having an argument in my head trying to figure this out logically....someone else is in the house trying to scare me, but I know I'm the only one here.... they came in the front door, but I would see them come down the hallway... they climbed the island, but I would have heard them...why did the floor sink???? I immediately jumped around, but nothing was there.
I may not have seen anything, but I know what I felt and I know what I heard. I believe, to this day, there was an entity right behind me; probably because of the intense session I had earlier. I know I was the only one in the house, I know there is no way a concrete floor can sink, and I know what I experienced. A couple of weeks went by and I saw a man who always mowed the fields around our house during the hay season. I normally stop by and chat when I saw him and this time was no different. I told him what I had encountered a few weeks back and he told me about how he sees different shadow figures walking through the fields while he's moving. He said they were solid and looked like they were wearing full length black hooded capes. Was this connected to what I experienced? I don't know, but what I do know is this was an experience that just fueled my desire to study and understand the paranormal.
If you are interested in the field of Parapsychology or you have a question, check out the

or you can email us at

. MPI will also be speaking at the first Paranormal Conference in Wichita Falls, "
FallsParaCon
" on October 25 at the Howard Johnson. If you are interested about how to become a paranormal investigator or maybe how to start your own organization, this will be the event for you.
