Truth and Foundation is thankfulness
Contributed by: MELISSA dockins on 10/25/2008

In light of Thanksgiving around the corner I started thinking, what am I beyond anything else thankful for. I have questioned myself over and over but there is only one conclusion to my story and it is my family. Unfortunately, in my case my family has not always stood by my side, after a secret was aired to thefamily at the age of ten I was disowned and shone for revealing truth, years later the truth was evident to many more. My dad had 11 siblings and from that stemmed many families, today I know of five somewhat well. All these years I have wondered if I had kept the secret, "Would that family given me a chance?" but now today I'm thankful that I still have the love of family instilled in me from my pypi and grandma, through all the turmoil they held me, took care of me, and have even cried with me when my young mind didn't understand the punishment that I felt for telling the truth. Looking back, I wouldn't change not one heartache of loss for telling the truth, years later I found that truth is foundation and without it comes misfortune. From then the rest of the family took me under their wings and protected me, they took my dad in and lavished him with fatherhood and honor. What more could anyone ask for? Today as a grown woman I don't wonder anymore what if, how can you miss something you never knew? Being who I have become today I can't imagine what my life would be any other way, this is a tribute to the ones who have never left my side(especially my husband), and the rest you know who you are! You have made me laugh, cried with me, felt my pain, and have celebrated life with me. Thank you, people go lifetimes without acknowledging the small things like family that make a lifetime impact on you. And to those of you that left me as a child years ago, may you have all the things and more that you have given me! Life is amazing and the circle of life is evident to me, be careful what impact you make in this amazing circle of life that never ends. Be THANKFUL AND REJOICE ALWAYS!!
