The Words I Wish I'd Said....
By Annetta 'Ann' Rich Weyant
When I was young, you held my hand
And taught me how to see.
I didn't tell you often enough
How much you meant to me.
As the years passed by and you grew old,
The time flew swiftly past.
I didn't realize the day would come
That life could change so fast.
You told me then, that the time was near,
And I held your hand as you grew weak.
We knew you would be leaving soon,
Yet, through tears, I could hardly speak.
With loving thoughts of happy days,
I have the memories of you, Dad,
And always, you are in my heart.
It's the missing you that's sad.
