Seedtime and Harvest at CWJC
Contributed by: Gabriela Nesbitt on 9/6/2009

Christian Women's Job Corps (CWJC) just finished their first week of class. We have 22 women enrolled and of these, 14 women need their GED. All these women are ready to make a new change in the next 14-weeks of life and job skill training. They are expected to graduate on December 5th at Floral Heights United Methodist Church starting at 6:00pm. Overnight, a women's life can change, and that change can be overwhelming. Job loss, spousal loss, divorce, addictions, abuse, incarcerated or illness. For others, it's not a change but a way of life that's been handed down from previous generations. Once a person's life appears hopeless, escape can prove difficult but not impossible. A women needs encouragement, nurture, support, and to become self-sufficient. But most importantly, they need to experience God's love, forgiveness, and grace. CWJC is not about "fixing" what is wrong with our women. CWJC is about change. The women want their lives to be different, and we want to empower them to make the changes necessary for them to reach their goals. When these women receive support, they are more likely to act on their strenths. CWJC believes in each person's capacity for change and growth. This requires us to give attention to thier resources; talents, goals and experience. When we do, we increase the probability of positive growth for them. Even though seedtime and harvest promises cover many areas, the fact of the matter is most of them deal with money or material things. The harvest of sowing cash seeds into a good ministry doesn't just mean receiving cash back into your pocket. People who give don't always see a hundredfold cash return on their giving. The hundredfold return comes in other ways, such as souls being saved, mouths being fed, favor being granted, and people being helped. When you give to CWJC, you have your part in the fruit of this ministry. You definitely receive back a hundredfold and more. CWJC has three months left until the end of our physcial year. We are asking first time individual donors, churches, businesses and friends to support us in this critical point of our ministry. CWJC needs to raise $10,000 before the end of the year. Please sent your money seeds to 2301 9th Street, Wichita Falls, TX 76301 or our website www.cwjcwichita.org or contact Gabriela Nesbitt at 940-687-0601. Thank you for your financial support, together we are making a difference in women's lives in Wichita Falls. Gabriela Nesbitt Executive Director
