My mother, Vera Rich, died February 12, 1980, a little over a year after being diagnosed with inoperable cancer.
This was a poem I wrote during that difficult time, knowing my mom might not be with us for very much longer. She loved birds and flowers and she loved her family.
I miss her so much.
To Mom
Dear God above, hear my plea,
Let my mom live here with me.
Let her live, dear God, I pray
Let your light shine night and day.
She's my dear mother and You can see
How I need her here with me.
I will love her all my days
In so very many ways.
Keep her in Your loving care
Let her have no need of fear.
Let her always be at peace,
Keep her, God, within Your reach.
