"The Proud VS The Humble"
Contributed by: christopher ridener on 7/6/2007

In James 4:6 of the (NIV)Bible we read "God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

Many times in our lives we are faced with situations where we perform a good deed or accomplish a great task.We sometimes want to ensure that many of those around us knowofour great accomplishment. Being recognized forsuccess is a natural part of life. It helps us feel needed and appreciated. From a scientific point of view it fallsunder one of our basic needs. Many of us still tend to forget and even act out of arrogance when explaining our accomplishments. We also are so proud that we become boastful. In the eyes of God thisis not a graceful act. When we lend a helping hand or plant a seed in our community we need to do sowith God in our heart.Something has helped lead us to our act of kindness. The whole point of accomplishing this task what to show our good faith to our savior and to reach out to help others. When you are humble for your accomplishments and perform daily your deeds and tasks with no expectations of return God will give you farther morethan to those who do thingsjust for the glory of being noticed.
Most recently I was speaking with a very wise women. This women is of great faith and has many reasons to praise God on a daily basis. Because of her strong feelings and such powerful love for God she stated to me that she loves giving to othersin terms of time and even financially. This tends to be in the form of helping family, friends, and the church. She told me that shelearned over time through being humble and giving from the heart even if she triedshe could never out give God. This hold true in our daily lives. Once we respect, love, and give our hearts and soul to Jesus we will soon learn that those whoare proud will be opposed by God and those who stay true and humble will always findtrue meaning and grace in their lives!

Perhaps you can find another name, and just be you. I don't know. Perhaps you can be a regular human being without the marketing. Perhaps you cannot. I hope you will.

Frankly, as one of the contributors to this site, I find your 'marketing' to be common maybe, but objectionable. Certainly it hides you from us. Drop the holy mantle, and seek your advertising in another sphere. Give the 'public' a break.

Put the shoe on the other foot maybe. Let's say somebody staked out a claim on this site who wished to promote ATHEISM, or AGNOSTICISM, and each of their entries tried to have the community get in line with their work from the so-called Christian Hell? Would you be one of the first to be crying about it? Would you be one of the first of those who run from cover, and call down hell fire upon them? Seems to me, this site is a public site, and many differing views comprise it. I don't see anyone here doing marketing but you?

Chris, are you going to pass the 'offering' plate around now? Come on dude, be who you are. Why not just 'be' without some form of self promotion which may or may not pad your wallet?
