As one of the proud members of the Wichita Falls Jewish Community, I wish to share my thoughts on a wonderful and truly needed organization, Interfaith Ministries Incorporated.
January 2007, I had the good fortune to be placed on the Board of Interfaith Ministries. Interfaith was formed to assist with the recovery after the 1979 Tornado. Now after 29 years of helping Wichita Falls' residents with services like Pennies for Prescriptions, utilities assistance, a food bank and interpreters, Interfaith has outgrown its current facility. With all the great services that IMI offers, their building is inadequate to provide the privacy and respect their clients deserve.
The Bible requires us to give charity. In Hebrew, this commandment is called tzedakah. In today's society, we are bombarded daily with requests for money, and determining the truly needy is more difficult than ever. For years, Interfaith Ministries has been finding and helping the needy in our community. Not only do the clients receive the monetary benefit they desperately need, but also they are given the opportunity to receive spiritual counseling .
Please help IMI reach its goal of moving to a new facility and ensuring the continuation of the inspired work that IMI does. By contributing to the "Join Hands to Serve Others" Capital Campaign, you are able to combine tzedakah (Charity) with a mitzvah (doing a good deed). Your donation will ensure the survival of IMI for years to come.
If your faith, like mine, requires tzedakah, then consider giving to an organization where money stays here in Wichita Falls to help families in need.
