" True Blessing Comes From What Can't Be Seen!"
Contributed by: christopher ridener on 6/19/2007

John 20:29
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (NIV)

As an outreach minister I come across many people that come from many backgrounds and many walks of life. I hear at least once on a daily basis how do you know God to be true? I hear this the most from young people. I usually counter that question by asking how do you know God not to be true? Most of the time the common response is I can't see, hear, or feel God. At this point I normally am smiling because in my mind the person I am talking to opened a big door for me.
The Bible tells us that many who walked this earth before our time from the beginning was blessed enough to see Jesus Christ the son of God. He walked amongst man. Even in those times there were belivers and non-believers.The people of the earth experienced Jesus Christ and still failed to believe. But, those who did believe were blessed. So this is one challenge I present to a person who normally makes the argument I stated earlier. On any given day you can leave your home, work, school, and so on. When you walk outside or go down the road you will normally see a building whether that be a house, business, school, or other type of facility. Myquestions to individuals who think this way are the following:

1.Question: How did that building get there?
Normal Answer: Someone Built is.
2. Question: How do you know someone built it?
Normal Answer: I just know.
3.Question: What if I were to tell you that building was created from a big bang?
Normal Answer: That is ridiculous/Your crazy
4.Question: If that is ridiculous then let me ask this. Can you see the person who built that building?
Normal Answer: Yes
5. Question: How? Where are they?
Normal Answer: Well I see people build building/structures all the time.
6. Question: I understand but, this specific structure that is built can you see the designers, builder, contractor?
Normal Answer: No it is already built.
7. Question: Can you see, hear, or talk to this person at this present time?
Normal Answer: No
8. Question: Then how can you really tell me that someone built it?
Normal Answer: I just know

At this point I state exactly you know why you just know because your brain or Intelligence tells you that the structure exist because someone built it.This is the same or like having faith. Your mind tells you to have faith in what you believe. Based on your education and experiences you know that the building had to have been built by a creator. Then I begin to explain If you have never gained education through the bible then how can your intelligence or brain really decide whether there is a God or not? The other point I make is that if you truly wanted to know who built that building you would seek the information. Just like if you want God to present himself in your life you would seek him. God will only present himself to those who believe in him and seek him.

Like we read in John those who seen him believed in him and were blessed. Today those of us who have not seen him but, still believe in him are even more blessed. This my friends is true blessing and true faith. If we ask for God to come in our hearts and turn on the light we will feel his glory and salvation. we will become his sheep and learn how to be a good sheppard to help guard and guide his flock. Blessed are those who have not seen but, still believe.

I feel that life is dangerous not to believe that we were created or built by a greater being. Like that building we have a structure and design like no other. We may show similar features but, that building is unique to its designers and creators. This is just a small lesson in many on proving the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Note: If you liked this lesson or know of a group or organization that would like to be educated. Contact Chris through Http://www.flatmonkeybmx.com You or your organization will recive a Bike/Skate Stunt Performance show and educational teachings like drug awareness, alcohol abuse, violence among young people, why being a bully is not cool, defining and achieving success, and the Christian perspective. This is great for schools, churches, youth rallies and more.

Chis, I'll give you a hint. There are many, many so-called 'transitional forms' of biological life. Where are they PUT?

Chris, frankly, you should do more research into what Darwin thought and wrote about. Can you show me or anyone else how a 'transitional form' in biology COULD be classified under the Linean system of taxonomic classification?

Chris, alrighty. IF in fact you do delete your evangelism from your 'public talks' in the PUBLIC SCHOOLS, then I'd be all for your gig. However, I highly doubt your presentations are devoid of such religious, evangelical zeal. Of course, you could prove me wrong if in fact your presentations could be counted as secular. Something tells me that that is not the case. You have the constitutional right to hold whatever BELIEF you chose, however, you do not have a constitutional right to impress those views on the captive audience of the public school children at large.

David Hume's, "Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion In terms of David Hume's Dialogues....My only comment is that like evolution and the writings of Darwin and Darwin's son many years later...These views are based on philosophy....and I state again philosophy not even logic or science...Even Darwin stated in his theories that they would never be proven because of the missing links....I am not arguing philosophy because this is a intelectual backround in terms of reasoning and logic...But, in terms of true belief this is based on two simple things in my opinion and that is faith and the written word...neither will I argue with or tempt....My arguements are based on simple facts and truths...there is scientific facts that were mentioned in the bible over 4,000 years ago before scientist ever really discovered them on Earth. There are also historical facts that were written in the bible that is taught in American History today....Be blessed

Sir; When we go to public schools we do not discuss religion. This violates most state and federal laws and could cause problems with the school system and the public. I have my own opinion on this but will keep that to myself. What we talk about in these venues is Ant-Drugs, Eating Healthy, Exercise, Sports Safety, Anti-Bullying, and other educational topics. Be Blessed

No doubt you have a 'divine' purpose in life, and I'll not fault you at all for it. It is your life. However, there is an open question to you, and those like you who wish to use the TAX DOLLARS to support, and 'establish' your particular points of view in the public square.

Why should approximately HALF of the U.S. TAX dollars be spent to give a platform for your particular, and religiously sectarian points of view? Perhaps you as a good Christian pastor can EXPLAIN to ALL AMERICANS exactly why all of our TAX dollars should be SPENT to support your particular, religious calling in life?

At any rate, I wish you well. EXCEPT for you wanting to push your religious agenda into a PUBLIC SCHOOL audience. I don't want my tax dollars to be spent to support your, nor any other Christian, or other type of religious agenda in an effort to turn our non-thinking public school children to any religious point of view.
