Over 150 children from ages 5 to 17 entered Wichita Falls Area Food Bank's "Kids Cafe Essay Writing Contest" and wrote an essay about how Kids Cafe has helped them and their family. AJ Morgan from Central Boys & Girls Club and Kiara Green from Rosewood Boys & Girls Club both won first place for their age group and won two free passes to Castaway Cove Water Park.

Kids Cafe is a project of the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank to give children a place to eat a free evening meal while learning nutritional information to help them make wise eating choices in the future. There are currently eight Kids Cafe's located at the following Boys & Girls Clubs: Burkburnett, Central, Northwest, Northeast, Rosewood, Mill Street, Southeast and Clay County Boys & Girls Club.

The Food Bank would like to thank Castaway Cove Waterpark, Wal-Mart and Bahama Bucks for donating prizes to the winners and participants of the essay contest.
