Blog Entry 1 of 2 Extreme Christian Begins Local Outreach
29 May 2007 Local bicycle stunt rider Chris Ridener has combined his love for extreme sports with education and Christianity. Chris has always been involved in Bicycle Stunt riding since he was very young. For the past three years he has been developing an outreach program to reach young and old. This year Http://www.flatmonkeybmx.com was born. This organization performs a mixture of bicycle flatland stunt riding, skateboarding, and heelys shoe tricks to entertain audiences between 30-60 minutes. At the end of the performance Chris speaks with the audience about a variety of topics ranging from safety to the Almighty. He uses his life experiences and guidance from God to help mentor youth and be a role model. Team Flatmonkey consist of a variety of skateboards like Matthew Johnson from Burkburnett, TX. His show is also a family act literally with his son Layne being the youngest performer. Layne performs bicycle stunt tricks at only age 2. His daughter also gets in on the act by helping MC the events and performing a Heelys skate shoe demonstration. In most religions there is a foundation of faith and trust. This team not only lives up to these ideas but, is built on it. This is demonstrated by each of them lying flat while the other performs tricks over the top of them. When asked Chris what he owes this quick success his reply " Proverbs 16:3 " Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed" Watch for shows in your community coming soon.
