A friend of mine had to cancel her doctor's appointment because the bus dropped her off at the wrong location after having been on the bus for three hours and they didn't honor her transfer. A few people weren't following the rules, being on the bus with an open container of liquid. All drinks should have fitted lids on them while riding the bus. My friend was so traumatized from this experience that she only takes the bus when she has to. She called to warn me of her trouble. Since I didn't want to encounter all the trouble, I stayed away from it by not riding that week.
While I am fairly happy that there is a bus stop located in my back yard, I am going to have to keep my windows and sliding back doors locked with the Charlie Bar down and remember to close the blinds when the sun goes down. Last week, I saw someone in a cap leaning with his back turned against my privacy fence. He didn't look my way, nor peer into my house. I did have the blinds open and the TV on with no lights. I closed my blinds anyway.
A few days ago, I dreamt that some one was able to unlock my window on the left side, remove the screen, and crawl through. Anything left unlocked is an open invitation for trouble. So far, I've been lucky not being harmed or with nothing being stolen when I forgot to lock my door.
One thing concerns me about the bus line. The back hill is a buster to navigate in this heat. I found out that these bus stop will be a common area, so that means the city will have to put a shelter and a sidewalk back there. I can request a sidewalk and ramps be put on the apartment complex curbs leading to the hotel and accross the street as our side has none of this.
I told my mother and a few other friends that before I sick myself on city hall, I'm going to make sure I have all my facts straight. There's nothing worse than getting egg on my face because I didn't know all the facts. Thanks to the eagle eye of the church van driver last Sunday,
now I can sick 'em.
