Jennifer James, Community News Editor

Jennifer has been a Knoxville resident since 2000 and has directed the News Sentinel's community news department since 2003. Previously she has worked as a newspaper reporter in Florida, Louisiana and Ohio, but has chosen the Knoxville area as home. She has a master's degree in journalism from Ohio State University. She is married to Michael James and has a three-year old son, Benjamin. The family lives in the Strawberry Plains area of Knox County. Jennifer believes that providing community news is one of the most important roles that a newspaper can play. The YourHub.com concept will allow the News Sentinel to provide that intensely local news and information in a more immediate and interactive way.

Lisette Kaczka, reporter

Lisette, a Florida State graduate, has been a Knoxville resident for 17 years and has worked at the News Sentinel for 12 years. She started in the sports department and since 1997 has written a popular recreation sports column that runs in that section every Sunday. She joined the community news staff in 2003.

Marti Davis, reporter

Marti has worked as a reporter at the News Sentinel for more than 21 years years. She came to Knoxville from her hometown of St. Louis, where she was a reporter at the St. Louis Globe-Democrat. Marti has a bachelor's degree from William Woods College. She has been heavily involved in community news throughout her career here. Marti and her husband, Bill, have two children, Sarah Levary, 23, and Ben, 17.

A University of Southern Mississippi graduate, Angela has been at the News Sentinel since 2002 as part of the community news staff. Originally from Lubbock, Texas, she has settled in Tennessee after living in four states in five years.

Ed Marcum, Bearden native and University of Tennessee journalism graduate, has been covering community news and the Metropolitan Planning Commission for about 15 years. He and his wife, Lisa, a freelance photographer who has contributed photographs to the News Sentinel, live in North Knoxville.
