Blog Entry 14 of 18 Day 3 in Turin
Is anybody out there? Does anybody in this world know I am writing this junk? Please email me gholsonn@timesrecordnews.com and tell me. I can recommend a good psychiatrist; get you a Prozac prescription. I had a really bad writing day today (Sunday). I covered women's speedskating and they sucked. Didn't win a medal. So my assignment then was to not write about it. I did that. Did a "In the Nick of Turin" on something I covered Saturday. Read it in Monday's paper. And then throw up. I will do better tomorrow. Cant' do any worse. Nick Gholson

More Wednesday 2-22 in Turin

Kinda of cut my last blog short, so thought I would add some more this morning (as you all sleep).
They had a bus strike here last night.
We were walking to the bus, like we do everything night (there is a big bus hub here). Some wannabee cop whistles at us and tells us to stand aside. There are buses lined up in every direction, going nowhere. It looks like all the drivers got together and just parked their stupid buses.
Well, somehow, they finally found some drivers and we got back to the media village. I feared that when I woke up this morning, there would be no bus back to the media center. But it was there right on time.
Must have been an hour strike or something.
Left the bar early last night when some yankee sports writer started blasting George W. Hey, I am nor overjoyed with George, but this guy wanted to kill him. Or at least he and August Busch wanted to kill him. He said he was for the death penalty but for only one person -- GW. None of us bothered to say anything, and the guy finally got the point and got up and went to another table.
I don't like this America blasting America stuff.
That's what the Shani vs. Chad feud is.
A house divided cannot stand. Either Abe Lincoln or Bum Phillips said that, I think.
Scary thought. I started understanding curling so well that in the area where the press meets the athletes, I caught myself asking the most intelligent questions. Read my curling story in the paper Thursday morning and you will see that I am getting this curling terminology down pretty good after just three games.
Hey, keep responding. It is you and me that keep this website alive.
