Blog Entry 1 of 181 Everyone Has an Opinion; These are mine
Everyone has a right to their own opinion, everyone does not have a right to their own set of facts. The lie of political correctness, the motive of a relative society is to confuse people into mistaking wrong for right. There are biblical absolutes and I try my best to adhere to these principles and prcepts. Do I make mistakes YES. Do I get confused YES. But I never mistake dishonesty for honesty and I know a lie when I tell it. So, that all said, these are my opinions as I see them.

Ann's Work Needs Work
Contributed by: Charles Paul Stephens   on 5/25/2007

I am amazed at Ann Work's piece on the Work Force Task Force
involving Carrol Wilson. I will do my very best to avoid opinions
(as they did) and I will stick to the facts or the lack there of. I found
it odd that many identities were not mentioned? Some quoted seemed
to be educators which could be part of the problem. Educators are
quoted as ALWAYS needing something. Others quoted seem to be
community activist who target specific groups for help, namely Hispanics.
No wonder the religious community were not in attendance as Wilson mentioned To state that one group of children have a better defined family
life over other children is just plain wrong. Would these folks care to
offer real statistics on things like domestic violence, teen pregnancy,
teen STDs and proportional ethnic dropout rates. Or how about alcoholism
and drug addiction being the primary reason so many children find
school likable and not it's air conditioning as was stated. Next we
have Ann using the words " social niceties"; it's called manors, morals and character but children are not being taught these things any longer for fear
of offending someone. Instead, parents attack coaches, coaches attack
referees and over educated liberal teachers quite possible are the fastest growing criminal element in America today considering all the "Teacher/Student Sexual Exploits. The fact is most college grads are just like Brandi Ballard, who, with a Masters Degree waited table for two years while she waited on a job.I too suffered much of the same and returned to construction with $7000 in college debt. Give us those facts, quote those people who are struggling with thousands
in college debt and who, like myself, operate with loans in deferment most
of the time. These are what we need to hear. Last students are told over and
over "go to college, get a degree" or " you'll never make it without college"
yet most have parents who left them a nice trust fund for college only with
a spiritual principle call " Hard Work". It would seem thatthe community is
trying to promoted something other than hard work as part of city improvement.
I am not against higher education. I am against the lack of facts when we
discuss such things. It is amazing to me that the number of employees
America will be short in 2010 is identical to thenumber of illegals we are
about to make illegal? Just the facts... notopinion.
