Blog Entry 11 of 181 Everyone Has an Opinion; These are mine
Everyone has a right to their own opinion, everyone does not have a right to their own set of facts. The lie of political correctness, the motive of a relative society is to confuse people into mistaking wrong for right. There are biblical absolutes and I try my best to adhere to these principles and prcepts. Do I make mistakes YES. Do I get confused YES. But I never mistake dishonesty for honesty and I know a lie when I tell it. So, that all said, these are my opinions as I see them.

Too Many Varibles; Too Little Humility
Contributed by: Charles Paul Stephens   on 7/5/2007

Each day here in America another person makes a statment or creates a theory that cannot possibly be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. And reasonable doubt is what I want to stick too. The most recent is the statment that "1 billion people will die from smoking this century. 50% of those who smoke will die from it." I have a simple question, actually two or three questions: What happens to the other 50%? Why do they not die? Instead of focusing on the 50% that die why not seek a cure through the 50% that live? Why, because there is no money in that, No grants, no pledges no federal funds. And what about those that smoke their entire life and die from cancer at 70, why do they get to be labled a failure? Should they be counted as successes? Next we move to Global Warmingl; Why will Al Gore not answer unscripted questions? Why will he not appear on a stage with anyone who disagrees? And why does everyone that disagrees with the idea that humans are at fault get threatened with termination? This is not fair debate or equal public discourse. Oh, and what is the idea tempature anyway, those in Greenland and Iceland like what is happening right now! Being a Christian I do not believe in Evolution yet I do not shut-down the deabte. Simply show me where it is taking place today? Show me the half and halfs that should be still forming if in fact evoluyion is still taking place. Did it just stop at the last ice-age? My point is America must gain the humility to say " I do not know". We must stop the raging storm of fear over each hurricane or flood. Weather is weather and the experts have NEVER been able to predict it nor can they stop it! They have missed miserably the hurricane predictions for 2 years now and threaten those who try to argue over amount and power! Again, there are billions of dollars at stake and hundreds of careers, they cannot afford to be proven wrong. We see the same pressure put on college deans and research facilities, no room for mistakes , no mention of failure, only ego driven peer reviewed successes, how is that? The mistaken identity of cancer causing agents such as sugar or nitrates, the misrepresentation of the stem-cell debate and of course alcoholism and drug abuse! We see great fan-fare when they roll out a new alcoholism drug or patch yet little success is reported? Why, why is it that these over-educated-anti-humble people never have to write papers on the failures or lack of success? They spend our tax dollars with no concern or guilt and offer us nothing, nothing for our money. In truth with most all of these experiments there are to many varibles and too little humility, most should simply return the money(grants) as an act of maturity and responsiblity to their craft.
