Butterflies Anyone?
Contributed by: Penny Miller   on 6/20/2007

On Saturday the NorthTexas Bird and Wildlife Club and members of the Rolling Plains Texas Master Naturalists will be conducting a butterfly count at Lake Arrowhead State Park. This is the second year we have participated in this event. Anyone interested in learning more about butterflies is invited to take part. You don't have to be an expert (no one else is). All counters pay $5 to participate to help defray the recordkeeping costs for this national census. Meet at the main gate at 8:00 am.

Last year we saw lots of butterflies--the emphasis was on learning to identify species. This census is conducted on foot. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, and water. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
